BSNL makes 3G cheaper, revises Tariff for 3G Data Card Users

Kerala circle of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) is readying for a ‘large influx' of mobile customers through the mobile number portability (MNP) window. According to Mr Premachandra, Chief General Manager, BSNL-Kerala, at least five lakh new customers are expected to ‘port in' during this financial year. He said this while speaking at a function organised by the Trivandrum Management Association to explain the formalities, processes and procedures associated with the MNP regime.

Government panel recommends merger of BSNL, MTNL and ITI

NEW DELHI: A government panel has recommend that state-owned telcoms company Bharat Sanchar Nigam (BSNL) merge with its smaller sister concern MTNL as well as communications gearmaker Indian Telephone Industries (ITI) as part of the erstwhile state monopoly's attempts to turnaround its loss-making operations and breathe new life into its businesses.

           A very large number of employees in BSNL are greatly perturbed as the Board of Reconstruction of Public Sector Enterprises has recommended and suggested the BSNL to rationalise the manpower through the process of VRS, lowering of retirement age to 58 years, reduction of allowances of workers and maximum outsourcing. It has appeared in the peess that the BSNL Headquarter was required to submit its action taken report to DOT by 31^st March of the year.

(1) 29/03/2011 அன்று, மத்திய தொழிற்சங்கமான AITUC முயற்சியில் மத்திய அமைச்சர் கபில்சிபல் அவர்களுடன் ஒரு சந்திப்பு நடந்தது. AITUC சார்பாக 
குருதாஸ் குப்தா, NFTE சார்பாக தோழர்கள் சந்தேஸ்வர் சிங் மற்றும் இஸ்லாம் அகமது ஆகியோர் கலந்து கொண்டனர். NFTE-BSNL க்கு அங்கீகாரம் வழங்குவது பற்றி ஆழமான விவாதம் நடைபெற்றது. 5-ஆவது சரிபார்ப்பு தேர்தலில் எந்தவொரு சங்கமும் 51% ஓட்டுக்கள் பெறாத நிலையில் BSNL நிர்வாகம் BSNLEU & NFTE-BSNL ஆகிய இரு சங்கங்களுக்கும் அங்கீகாரம் அளித்திருக்க வேண்டும் என வலியுறுத்தப் பட்டது. இது போன்ற சூழ் நிலையில் அங்கீகாரம் குறித்து சென்னை உயர் நீதி மன்றம், Neyveli Lignite Corporation வழக்கில், வழங்கியிருக்கும் தீர்ப்பும்  எடுத்துக் காட்டப்பட்டது.  தகுந்த முடிவெடுக்கப்படும் என மத்திய அமைச்சர் உறுதி அளித்தார்.
